Sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) refers to any act that is perpetrated against a person’s will and is based on gender norms and unequal power relationships.

Art 21 of the constitution of the republic of Uganda, presupposes that no one shall be discriminated based on colour, sex religion etc all persons are equal under the law.
Perpetrators of violence SGBV can be tried for offences under the Penal Code Act, Computer misuse Act and Domestic violence Act.
