FRAUDULENT DEALINGS ON LAND

On the 29th of June 2020, the nation woke up to shocking news of the president's land being dishonestly taken by fraud stars.

These FRAUDULENT persons created a title on the president's land in Kabulasoke gomba which had already been registered in the name of Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

Before the president became a victim of land grabbers, many ugandans had fell victims and are still being affected. Ugandans are losing land yet one would have thought that by having their land registered they are safe from fraudulent dealings but the reverse is true.

Fraud has not spared any form of registration be it leases, Mailo, freehold etc.

What needs to be done to protect land owners from land grabbers and fraud stars? How are fraud stars able to defraud people of their land yet it is registered,

Some registries have actually conived with land fraud stars to deprive people of their land.

This starts with surveyors who may also double as land brokers within land registries.

Some Registrars reveal information of the available land on blue pages that has not been claimed for.

This gives the fraud stars opportunity to start processing titles through fake letters of administration.

These letters are then applied to cause registration of land grabbers on people's land.

Some fraud stars are bold enough to forge court orders which are also used to have the fraud stars names entered on titles.

When it comes to public land, fraud starts from area land committees and district landlords who allocate land to only those who can afford and they don't care whether or not they have compensated the sitting tenants.

The situation is quiet absurd because at times there is actually no physical survey of the land or opening of boundaries. Surveyors merely use GPS coordinates and place titles on people's land without knowing the actual boundaries.

This explains why more than one title is placed on the same land.
